Decorations

I babysat a little 2 year old the other day and was reminded of one of the reasons I love my boys. They do not touch my decorations I have in our living room. I have tall glass vases and they leave them alone. I don't know if it's because they don't interest them, or because they've grown up with them. Anyway, this 2 year old wanted to grab everything in my living room and I started moving everything to higher ground in my kitchen. I had to take a picture near the end because it made me laugh to see my breakables all together up high.

Well, the story doesn't end there, I think I was too proud of my boys that day because the very next day Jordan, Sam and Benji were having a crazy dance party and Jordan was getting a little too into his dance steps and knocked that green hourglass on the floor where it shattered. And here is where we clearly see the difference between my boys: Jordan felt bad immediately! He started bawling and yelling, "I didn't mean to!!! It was an accident!!" Poor boy was sobbing and really felt very bad. Their age probably has a lot to do with it, but Sam does not feel guilt like Jordan does. Sam often smiles when he has done something naughty. I was holding Jordan and trying to get him to calm down by telling him I know he didn't mean to break it, and things don't matter to me as much he does, and I'm just happy he didn't get hurt. I think he started to feel better, but he still couldn't stop saying, "it was an accident!" for about an hour.
