Christmas Morning

Christmas morning we spent with my dad and siblings at my brother Todd's house. We had to wake up at the crack of crazy dawn and drive to his house because Benji and I were going to Brigham City later that morning and didn't want to be stuck in the huge storm that was supposed to hit. There were crazy amounts of snow in West Jordan and the driving conditions were awful, which made Benji and me (mostly me) pretty uneasy about the drive north. Once we got to my brother's house the roads were clear and pretty. I guess West Jordan got dumped on with snow, but the cities around it were fine. Pretty weird. We were grateful though because our drive to BC later that day was smooth.
At my brother's house we enjoyed our traditional creamed eggs over toast and little smokies breakfast. (Have you noticed how our traditions involve food?) We then opened gifts and hung out for a little bit.
When people ask me what I got for Christmas I sometimes think of Jordan's presents first. It's different being a mom, I find more joy in watching him open gifts and remember what he received more than my own presents (not that I'm not grateful for my gifts, it's just different).

Later that morning my brother showed Jordan his cop car, actually his cop SUV, but Jordan didn't care as long as it had flashing lights and a siren. Jordan had so much fun! He has awesome uncles.

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve with my mom. We had our traditional seafood dinner with crab legs, clam chowder and shrimp. Then we opened some gifts. We still get pajamas every year and we always change into them right after opening the presents. I still look forward to getting pajamas! Jordan didn't know how to open up presents, but as soon as he opened the first one he realized that cool and fun things come out of wrapped boxes and the rest of the time we were in Utah he had no problem tearing into the paper.Dinner time! My grandma Gourley, mom, Benji, Kelsey and Trevor. Todd ate dinner at his girlfriend's house.....
...which these guys thought was awesome, no Todd equals more crab for us! Thumbs up! (just kidding Todd, we missed you, or at least I did)

I love this picture! It makes me laugh. I told the guys to get together for a picture of their pajama pants, but they ended up looking like a bunch of statues (it's like they were afraid of touching each other), so I told them to do different poses...

BYU game

Here are some more old pictures for your enjoyment. This is our BYU bowl game party where the only enjoyment felt was when we ate yummy pizza, and maybe the kick off. After that, nothin'.

My two brothers are behind us and my dad is next to Jordan. My little sister, Kelsey is taking the picture. I love them all.

Every time we would tell Jordan to smile for the camera he would totally cheese it, but only for about 3 seconds, so it was hard to capture. We were successful once.

West Jordan La Jetes

These pictures are pretty old, but I just put them on my computer from my camera. My sister's drill team performed at the half time of a basketball game and I went to watch. She did awesome! She is the one wearing lots of makeup and black lingerie. Oh wait, they all are. Hmmm....she's the one on the left side of the picture, up front, and looks like me....

In this one she's the cool one in the middle holding her leg.

As much as Jordan loves Aunt Kelsey, he totally preferred watching the basketball game.

Where's my BRAIN!!!!?

So, I'm starting to feel the effects of 'pregnancy brain' or whatever you want to call it. I have been doing some pretty dumb things lately (well, more than normal, anyway) and I'm going to blame it on the pregnancy. Two days ago I went almost the entire day with my zip-up hoodie on inside out, today while I was driving I meant to use my blinker, but unbuckled my seat belt instead (I seriously thought pushing that button would make my car do what I wanted it to :)) and yesterday I was going to make pasta and forgot to put the water in the pot, good thing I checked on it or I would have started a fire or burned my pot.

Well people, I'm going crazy.

Or I already was, and I'm just noticing it now.

Goodbye 2008!

Because we don't have a 401k, stocks, own a home or have a job to lose we had a great 2008! Here is a recap of our year in pictures.

January
Jordan got two 10 cent goldfish named Cooper and Maximus. Cooper lived for 6 months.

Jordan had some crazy Flock of Seagulls hair. (But was still cute)

Jordan loved going to the park everyday.

We went to see the snow in the mountains.

February
I had to go to the ER after jumping on a drinking glass celebrating the Superbowl. Jordan was sick and sad. I was home alone with Jordan, thank goodness for Visiting Teachers! :)

We used our Disneyland passes for the first time.

I celebrated my 24th birthday.

March

Benji and I celebrated our two year anniversary on St. Patrick's day. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the two of us together on that day. This is at the restaurant we went to though. :)

Jordan hated Easter for some reason.

Benji had a mohawk for a day.

Jordan went to the beach for the first time and loved it.

April

Jordan's first haircut.

Jordan started walking.

We went to Las Vegas to see my sister compete in Highland dancing. She won. But she always does.

Jordan turned ONE!

May

Jordan's first baseball game.

Because of Jordan's new walking skills he became very mischievous...

...very mischievous. (He also discovered basketball.)

And then became obsessed with basketball.

My garden started growing.

Benji finally got to catch a fish.

June

We went camping with Jordan for the first time. He played in the dirt the whole time which resulted in this.........

We went to Utah for the summer break, and started the annual Camp Hillary tradition.

July

USA! USA! Fourth of July in Koosharem, Utah.

R.I.P. Cooper the fish.

We went to Denver and saw my sister win her 4th National Champion title in Scottish dancing.

Benji chased down a foul ball for Jordan, lucky guy!

August

We went swimming a lot.

We played outside a lot.

We went to Disneyland a lot.

And Jordan was just cute.

September

We went to Arizona with Benji for a conference.

And we swam a lot.

The Drayson center's family swim ended. :(

Benji and I went to a taping of Jimmy Kimmel live. Awesome!

We went to Hollywood.

October

My life changed when I got a dishwasher.

Jordan was a monkey.

And Benji and I were palm trees.

November

We voted.

We went to Utah for Thanksgiving. Jordan hates yams and stuffing just like his dad.

December
Benji dressed up like a ninja at Disneyland to celebrate Day of the Ninja. He's a legend, or so I'm told.
Jordan sat on Santa's lap for the first time. He hated him, but really isn't throwing a kid on some scary stranger's lap pretty mean?


The rest of December was spent in Utah with our families. I'm going to post those pictures in a separate post. Jordan played in snow for the first time, went tubing, found out he was having a brother and much more.....
