Luckily, we do have a little point-and-shoot camera, but the quality of the pictures is bad. And I hate using it because it has a two second delay from the time I push the button to take the photo to when it actually takes the photo. This has to be the worst idea for a mother of two young boys. I cannot capture a smile or a non-blurry picture because of those precious two seconds. That being said, I am grateful for the few pictures I have because of the little camera.
Back to catching up with us, I'm going to start my recap with today.
We bought a truck!
Every year the Box Elder Mosquito Abatement sells one of their older trucks and they hold a silent auction type thing for the truck they are selling, you put in a bid, highest bid gets the truck. We've been planning on buying a truck soon and we got such a good deal on the truck that I think it was worth it. Now we have two vehicles and we won't have to borrow Benji's parent's truck anymore. (Thank you for always letting us take your truck from you!)
Now here's what each of us has been doing:
Dewey: Yes, Dewey. He's going to get his own section. A cat came into our yard the other day and bit Dewey on the foot. . The next day he wasn't walking anywhere and his foot got infected, swollen and had gross pus coming out of it so I took him to the vet. This happened the day we put the bid in on the truck. Right after we had a conversation about our money and that we needed to be careful with our it for a little while since we were paying cash for the truck. Financially speaking, Dewey was not what I wanted to worry about. But we had to fork over money to get him checked out and gets antibiotics. I did learn something from the vet, I had no idea that there is something in cat saliva that is not good (I don't remember exactly what it is) and if a cat gets bit by another cat they get infected like Dewey did. It can happen to humans too. I had no idea.
P.S. That picture was taken awhile ago, I did not let Dewey in our house while his foot was...draining. Gross.
Sam:
Oh boy, as cute and as charming as Sam is, he is getting to the age where he throws tantrums. He doesn't tantrum every day, but when he throws one, he goes ALL out. I did luck out because he still doesn't say the word, "no." Okay, that's a joke because his favorite word right now is, "uh uh." I'm also wondering if there will ever be a day when he obeys me, if I tell him to do something, he won't, and if I tell him not to do something, he'll look at me, smile, and do it anyway. He also loves to torment Jordan by hitting, biting, and tackling. He can beat Jordan up.
On to cute things Sam does. :)
He's getting better at talking. I've always been able to understand him, but now I know he's getting better because Jordan can understand him.
My favorite word he says is "drink." It makes no sense, he says, "me-you," you would think he's trying to say, "milk," but he has a different word for milk so I don't know where he came up with that.
He loves to take walks, loves bubble baths, and still loves his stupid binky. We'll work on getting rid of that soon!
He is climbing out of his crib, so unless I put him down when he exhausted, nap time is not fun. Today he climbed out of his crib, knocked on his door, and then climbed back in.
We love to ask him to roll his eyes because it is so funny. Here is the only video I've been able to get, but he looks down so it's not very good. The video is long and he rolls his eyes in the first part of it, so you don't have to watch the whole thing.....
I found Sam sleeping like this the other night.
I love how his blanket is wrapped around him.
Jordan:
He still loves fireworks.
He's learning his numbers.
He has a crazy good memory (this might be typical of young kids, I don't know). He'll point out stores we went to once months and months ago and tell us the name of the store and what we did there. When we go for walks if we pass a house we've been to he can remember who lives there, when we went there and what we did.
He loves to dance.
Here is a video of him doing a firework dance.
Once again I was too late with the camera, his first dance made me laugh until I was crying.
Me:
I am loving my new calling and having fun learning all of my duties. I'm in the Primary presidency and lucked out in getting to supervise the Cub Scouts. It's been fun getting to know the scouting program before my boys become scouts and it's been even better getting to know the scouts themselves. For our last pack meeting we went to a dairy farm in Corrinne. We looked at the animals, learned how the cows are milked and where the milk goes.
My boys held hands while they walked around and looked at the animals. It was so stinkin cute, I love when they actually get along!
Looking at the cows....
This donkey followed us around everywhere, he was more like a dog than a donkey. The boys loved him!
Benji:
Benji has been working in Salt Lake on Wednesdays. He's going to work the extra day there until we buy the Brigham practice. The extra money will be nice for the next 18 months.
He has been trying to go fishing as often as he can, but now that he works more it's harder for him to find time.
He also has started growing a beard again, my only reason to hate this time of year.

What a great post. I love all of it. The firework dance is so funny. I love the pointer fingers as they're launched into the sky :) ha ha ha! I bet they had a blast at the dairy. Congrats on the truck!

That Lady gaga song is on a firework video on you tube, so now that is the "firework song"
