Deception

Look at this face:
He looks pretty cute and innocent wouldn't you say? Well, that my friends is where Sam has the whole world fooled. He is cute--dang cute if you ask me, but this kid is not so innocent! I sure do love my little trouble-maker and all most of his mischief though.

P.S. This picture was taken the other day when Sam came and told me he wanted to sit on the potty. After sitting on the potty for 10 minutes with no luck we went to the other room to get his diaper and pants back on where he peed all over the floor.

A new tradition

We've started a new tradition around here that I am so excited about! Each year we're going to make salt dough ornaments and then on one of them I'll paint the year, we'll save that one and hang it on the tree year after year. This year we decided to do a bunch of blimps since Jordan is a tad bit obsessed at the moment. I think they turned out rather cute--and Jordan thinks they are the coolest things ever.

A miscarriage

This isn't something I really want to post about, but since I announced last Saturday on my blog that I was expecting I guess I have to do it. On Wednesday I had a miscarriage. I've been in pain physically and emotionally, but spiritually I feel strong. I feel blessed with the family and friends I have, my two beautiful boys, my wonderful husband and most of all I'm happy my prayers for a healthy baby were answered. Obviously, this baby wasn't healthy enough to make it here. I feel my Heavenly Father's love and I know that he is aware of me and the pain I'm going through. It's nice that in a time of trial you can turn to Heavenly Father, feel his love and realize how blessed you really are. I truely am blessed! I am sad right now, but have so many things to be happy about!

Getting along

When I can hear my boys laughing together from the other room it usually means they are getting into trouble. The only time they get along is when they are doing something naughty. So the question is....how bad do I want them to get along their whole lives? :) If they are friends I'm in for it.
First they climbed up on their dresser and took turns throwing diapers on the floor.

After we got the diapers put away they got up there again to watch the snow.

Then they took all the books off the top shelf so they could climb up and turn the light on and off.

Frowney face

If I tell Sam to frown this is the face he pulls. Sooo sad. :)

Hat

The other day Sam came to show me his new hat! He put it on his head all by himself and was pretty excited to show it off.

The first snow

My boys modeling their new winter coats in the first snow of the year.

Waterfall

The cool thing about having my dad's camera is I found some pictures that I wouldn't have had otherwise. A few months ago we went on a hike to a waterfall with my dad. It's the craziest hike I've ever been on because you walk through a neighborhood with huge multi-million dollar mansions and then you take a little trail up to a beautiful waterfall. It's seriously in the middle of the city. Pretty crazy stuff. I guess it was a lot bigger earlier in the summer, but had dried out quite a bit when we hiked up.For some reason Sam isn't wearing pants. I don't remember why he isn't wearing them, but I kind of remember him spilling on them, wetting them, or maybe I just forgot them. I don't know.

I had spent the day doing a yard sale at my mom's house and was exhausted. I only had one hour of sleep and never got ready for the day, so I look like a mess in these pictures. I only added this one since it's far away because, believe me, you don't want to see an up close of my face.

Dinner Time

The other night my boys were so entertained by the "volcano" (boiling potatoes) in our kitchen they sat at the table and watched the whole time I made dinner.
Then for Halloween we had a fun dinner cooked in a pumpkin. I think we'll make it a tradition, but I'll have to remember not to get such a huge pumpkin. I had to cut off the stem so it could barely squeeze into my oven.
Then when we were done eating the dinner my boys were delighted when I carved a face into the brown, droopy pumpkin (they're a little obsessed with jack-o-lanterns right now). But then they both cried and cried when I threw the pumpkin away. So maybe we won't carve it next year.

A pillow

My dad left his camera at my house on accident, which is a bummer for him, but has been wonderful for me because I have a camera to use!

Yesterday I was cleaning up the kitchen while the boys played outside. The weather has been fabulous the past few days and it's nice that they can still get out and run around the backyard. At one point, I looked out the window and saw Sam sleeping in the middle of the lawn. I thought it was funny, so I took a picture....

Since he didn't notice the first picture I took I carefully moved closer to get a better one, but that's when I noticed he had a soft, fluffy pillow....

This picture made me laugh until I cried. That smile on his face kills me!

What a niiiice pillow.

P.S. No animals were harmed in the making of this post, in fact, they were purring and loved the attention.
