Love

Sam brought home this picture from church titled, "I Will Love Others." He then explained that he colored a huge explosion on all of the kids. I don't think he was paying attention to the lesson.

Fashion show

Two weeks ago Hannah hated shoes. Seriously, she would scream like they were going to eat her feet. Today she was so excited for church and picked out her dress and some boots. She was so excited when I put them on her that she walked up and down the hall with a huge smile on her face.

Look at that little catwalk smile.

Peeking around the corner to see if I was still watching.

The pouty serious look.

She loves the boots.

Random fun

Here's a little bit of what has been going on in our house the past few days.

Sam wore his and Jordan's dinosaur slippers on his hands and feet and stomped around like a dinosaur all day....in his underwear.

Hannah normally hates the bath and screams and thrashes about when it's time for one. Yesterday she gladly went in the bath so I had to take a picture. This is what she does if you ask her to smile.

Little boys think large icicles are awesome....in their underwear.

She loves her hippo chair.

P.S. Sam wears pants. I promise.

Crazy hair

This is Hannah's impression of a dandelion. She is so cool.

Dominoes

I have way more photos to post on this topic, but here are a few for now. Jordan's latest obsession is dominoes. We are already planning a domino birthday party....because that's what we do when Jordan is obsessed with something.

If you can't tell Sam was sad he missed this.

And Jordan's shirt is wet because he nibbled on it. He tries to eat his clothes when he is bored. Lovely.

Ice storm

So we had freezing rain here in Utah a few days ago. It caused the roads to be covered in a sheet of ice. It was pretty treacherous and I'm so happy Benji has had the past few days off so he hasn't had to drive in it. Well, it made the snow in our backyard pretty cool and fun. It was frozen on top and soft and fluffy underneath. It was like our snow had crust on it.

The guys had fun playing outside today. First they threw chunks of ice (because they couldn't make snowballs, of course.) The chunks of ice would glide across the surface of the snow when you threw them. Very entertaining.

Then they started burrowing underneath the icy crust. These pictures made me laugh for so long.

My little snow bunny.

These are my feet in the snow. You might be able to see the crust on the top. It was wicked crazy, but so fun to crunch around in.

Imagination

Sam spent an afternoon pretending that this comforter was a dragon. He would get on its back and flap its wings and it would blow fire at bad guys. He had so much fun. It's amazing what a good imagination can do!?

Busy, busy, busy.

She loves this drawer. It would be nice if I could keep her out of it, but sometimes it keeps her entertained long enough for me to eat, or switch a load of laundry, or make dinner. So I love/hate that drawer.

Our weekend at the cabin

Benji's sister's husband has a cabin in Idaho and they were nice enough to invite us there for the weekend. We had so much fun snowshoeing, snowmobiling, sledding, tubing, playing cards, and relaxing in the cabin. The cabin has a gorgeous view of the Tetons from the front porch and is surrounded by a national forest. It is so pretty and peaceful.

When we got there I pulled my camera out to take a picture of the Tetons and discovered I forgot my memory card. So here are some pictures from Benji's phone and my brother-in-law's camera.

She looked so cute all bundled up in her snow clothes.

We went to town one day to look an ice sculpture contest they had going on.

They loved the igloo.

Snowshoes!

While we were in town we stopped at the grocery store. Hannah had a tortilla sample that she kept in her mouth like this. After a while we realized it was because she had mittens on.

DA!

Hannah was loving this book last night. I don't know why she would shout, "DA!" after every page, but it was cute and funny.

Iron Man

One day Sam was painting pictures at the table, I was sitting with him and I helped him paint dragons and castles and knights. Then I went to do the dishes and left him painting by himself. He was in the dining room and I was in the kitchen, so he was still in plain sight. Soon he starts saying, "mom! I'm painting Iron Man!" I kept saying, "mmm hmmm," but never looked at him. Until I did. I couldn't stop laughing, so he didn't even get in trouble. We just had to talk about never painting our body. :) He was so proud that he looked like Iron Man.

It took a while to get all of the paint off his skin and we had to fill and drain the bath four times before he was completely clean. It still was kind of worth it. I haven't had a good laugh like that in a long time.

Hannah's hair

Hannah has the craziest hair on the planet. Okay, maybe not the planet, but I don't know what to do with it. She will keep clips or ponytails in it for 10 minutes or so, but then she pulls them out. I feel like I spend most of my day chasing her around and fixing her hair. It doesn't seem to bug her though, so maybe I should stop.

Well, here's a little of what Hannah has been up to this week.

One day I heard her crying and couldn't find her. Eventually I found her in her closet stuck on this shelf. I think she was crying to get my attention and not because she was really scared because once I got in there she was smiling and excited to show me her new spot.

She loves to dance to music. The hamster dance is her favorite, check it out on you tube, it is fun. When she dancing she looks like she's practicing to be in a drill team in the future because her facial expressions are so funny.

Her hair is so long I got it all in a ponytail one day. The back had to be held in place with a clip, but for the most part it is all in the pony.

One day she walked around with this on her head all afternoon.

And finally, this is what she looked like after her nap yesterday.

Icy winter wonderland

It has been cold here....realllly cold. Like negative 20 at night and 0 during the day. We have been finding fun things to do inside to pass the time and so far things are going well. I hope it's not this cold all January though because we might start getting cabin fever.

I have enjoyed taking pictures of our frozen home, and even though icicles are bad for the roof, I think they are beautiful.

All bundled up ready to go.
