Groundhog Day

I love having kids because they make holidays 10 times more fun. Even little holidays like Groundhog day. Seriously, I don't even remember the last time I celebrated Groundhog day, probably when I was in 2nd grade, but yesterday we did! We started the day out with a groundhog scavenger hunt. Each clue taught us a little about groundhogs and then eventually lead my boys to some tasty treasure.
He found the first clue!
Listening to dad read a clue.
The clue led them to the scale in the downstairs bathroom, but they could not find it, I had to take a picture of Sam with the clue right in front of him! :)
Finally found it!
Running to the next clue.
Sam loved the clue left on his big bear.

They thought it was HILARIOUS that the clue was taped underneath the table.
Sam pretending to hibernate like a groundhog.
Almost there! Listening to the last clue.
They found the buried treasure!

Then later we had groundhog dessert.

Bowling

Benji doesn't work this week so we're doing a little stay-cation around Brigham City and Salt Lake. We have some fun things planned. Today we went to McDonald's for breakfast (Jordan's request) and then we went bowling in the afternoon. I took a ton of pictures. Here are just a few of them.

I loved how they watched Benji.

Disappointed that he missed one:

She just hung out in her car seat the whole time.

Jordan was quite the cheerleader and celebrated everything.

This is part of one of his celebration dances:

We know how to celebrate too!

homemade finger paint

I made finger paint the other morning for the little guys and they loved it. I got the recipe for it from Pinterest, but I added way too much corn starch and it ended up really thick, but my boys had a lot of fun with it.

Nutella

Nutella on toast for breakfast makes everyone happy.

Hannah's first time at church

We took Hannah to church with us for the first time on Sunday, she spent most of that time in the mother's room with me, but we were there. I wanted to get a picture of her in her cute little outfit, but she discovered the polka dots on her tights and wouldn't stop staring at them while she kicked her legs.

I love how her cheeks look in this picture though!

So I put her on her side to get a picture of her looking at me. Isn't she a cutie!? :)

Hannah has to be one of the calmest babies I know. I love it because she is mellow and easy to care for, but it doesn't make for the best pictures because even when she's in a smiley mood, it's more of a laid back happy, so I can never get pictures of her smiling. Most of her pictures look like this:

Then the flash will startle her, so the next pictures will look like this:

She is also more of a talker than a smiler, so then she'll want to try and talk to the camera.

But I still think she is the prettiest little baby, even if she won't smile for me! :)

I'm also excited to see how her personality is as she grows. I wonder if she'll always be so serious and laid back.

Angry Bird party

Jordan's cousins had an angry bird birthday the other day, and my boys were so happy about it. They made sure to dress in all of their angry bird attire.

They played angry birds, had a scavenger hunt, and ate part of an awesome angry bird cake. Mostly they loved playing with their cousins.

Week 2

January 22nd-28th

After I accidentally said dinner instead of breakfast Jordan said, "That's okay, some people call it dinner. Farmers do."

Sam pretended to be a bird one morning and made a fabulous bird tail by tucking pajama pants into his diaper. He told me, "I need to be naked because I want to be a bird."

Jordan asked to watch blimps for the first time in months. This happened just days after he said the last thing he will ever like is angry birds.

One morning I asked Sam what he wanted to do that day. He responded with, "I want to get a truck and pour concrete."

Sam loves to pretend like he's is something other than Sam. His favorites are a bunny, dragon or dump truck. I know what he's pretending to be at the moment because he will announce each thing he is doing like this, "I a bunny that likes to drink water." "I a dragon that is flying." "I a bird that is sleeping in his nest." One day, while he was pretending to be a dump truck he said, "I a dump truck that's dumping dirt. I a dump truck that is really fast." *he starts running and then falls in the hallway. "I a dump truck that is okay!"

Sam had a rough night of sleep the other night. He woke up at least five times, but those are just the times I heard him and went to calm him down. Each time he woke up he was screaming at Jordan because he thought Jordan took something from him. Each time he woke up it was a different item that made him mad. I wish I could remember them all because they were all kind of funny. The only ones I remember are marshmallows and Woody (from Toy Story). I guess it's funny to have to calm down a screaming kid over marshmallows in the middle of the night. Also, we do not own a Woody toy.

I was putting Sam's shoes on the other day when he started sniffing me and said, "you smell like poison."

I made an awesome car track out of masking tape in our front room today (thanks Pinterest!). My boys loved it, seriously, they played with it all day. Jordan stopped playing for a minute to ask, "Mom, did you find this fun activity online?" I guess all of my fun ideas come from there.
We even added an airport runway.

I was making sandwiches for my boys one afternoon and as I was putting mustard on the sandwich the bottle made a toot sound. Sam gasped and then said, "the mustard is not polite."
