Pictures that are making me laugh right now.....

Oh, Sammy. I love you.

This is usually what I can see from my chair while I'm on the computer.

A trip down memory lane

Jordan said goodbye to a good friend and favorite toy the other day. His Aggie basketball hoop broke, and we finally threw it away, but not before getting some final pictures of Jordan posing with it.

Benji bought this hoop while attending Utah State 6 or so years ago. We had it hanging on our door in California, and when Jordan was a baby we found that if he was crying he would immediately stop if Benji held him and shot hoops. We believe this is where Jordan's love of basketball started. Once the kid could walk he almost always had that Utah State basketball in his hands. He spent hours upon hours shooting hoops. Not only was it a good toy, this basketball hoop helped Jordan through some tough patches in his life too. When Sam was born Jordan moved the hoop into his room and played harder and with more concentration than I have ever seen. He wouldn't let us come in the room to watch, he just needed alone time with his constant companion in a world that was crashing down with change. So, farewell Big Blue, you will be missed.

No name

I was going through my contact list on my phone when I reached the bottom of the list I noticed I have over 20 numbers saved as 'no name' and they have lots of random numbers entered. I guess I now know what happens when Jordan plays with my phone!

A new friend

Well, hello there friend. I'm glad you finally showed yourself after many nights of making my baby cry out in pain--too bad there are many more of you to come.

Tubing

On Friday night Jordan went tubing with some of his cousins at his Grandpa and Nana's house. He had so much fun, but it was snowing and the snow was pretty wet so the tube went pretty slow and didn't go very far, but maybe that's why Jordan had so much fun. He also enjoyed the hot chocolate and pizza party we had after!

Doctor's appointment

Samuel had a doctor's appointment today. He is getting caught up with immunizations so he normally wouldn't go in at 8 months, but we're behind, so he got to go today and then we'll go back in 4 weeks. Lucky us. Anyway, here are his stats:

Height: 30 inches (95th percentile)
Weight: 18 lbs 12 oz (26th percentile)
Head circumference: 45.6 (63 percentile)

So the pediatrician let me know that most babies lose weight at Sam's age, but apparently (and I'm not really surprised, because it happened to Jordan) he took quite a dive on his chart for weight. So at his next appointment we'll check his weight again, and if it doesn't change we'll talk to a specialist. This is the exact same thing that happened to Jordan, but I still can't help but feel so guilty. I have skinny babies. I feed them well. I don't know what else to do.

Anyway, this is how much fun Jordan had. He was desperately trying to be a good boy so he could get a sucker and push the button that opens the door when we were done, but sometimes waiting is no fun.

"But I'm NOT tired!"

Exclaimed a boy 20 minutes before this picture was taken....

Google...is there anything it doesn't know.

I've always been curious as to why Sam's nose is always orange. It's always a little bit darker than the rest of his face and shows up more in pictures. I always figured it had something to do with his diet, but then I got a little worried that it might be caused from the lack of something in his diet, so I did what I always to when I have a question--I googled it. I found a forum that had this question on it and it seems that most parents with this issue were told by their pediatrician that it is because of beta ceratine in the diet. So when you see Sam's cute little orange nose just know it's from all those carrots, sweet potatoes and squash he's been eating and not some tragic self-tanning accident.I mostly had to add this picture because of his hair....classic.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Walmart restroom!

We went to Walmart on Saturday, and as I was hurrying back to the potty for Jordan I realized since you can't take shopping carts in the bathroom with you I had no idea what I was going to do with Sam while I held Jordan on the potty (he needs me to hold him on the big toilets, so he doesn't fall in). As I was going over my very few options, I knew I was either going to have to squat and hold Jordan while balancing Sam on my knee, grow an extra arm, or put Sam on the floor.

As we walked in the large stall I saw the best invention ever in a public restroom--right after toilets, sinks, soap, stalls, changing tables and toilet paper, of course.

It was this seat built in the wall with a safety belt. It was perfect. And as gross as it might have been, it was 100 times better than the floor!!
(I wish I would have thought to get a picture before the toilet flushed, it scared him half to death, he screamed the highest pitched scream I have ever heard! Poor boy.)

Under Contract!

We're so excited!

Is it too late for this?

Here are some more Christmas pictures....(better late than never, right!?)

We went to my mom's house on the 23rd for lunch and presents. Jordan opened a new Utah Jazz basketball first. He loved it so much he slept with it that night.

Always smiling. (And drooling.)

He was pretty excited for his new race track.

Still just smiling. What a happy guy!

My brother Todd has the best present opening faces ever.

Grandma Great showing Jordan her new stuff.

Then later that night we went to my Aunt and Uncle's awesome house in Bountiful.

Then on Christmas evening my dad came over to open presents with my siblings at my house. We started with an amazing dinner, but I didn't get any pictures of it. My dad made and brought everything...thanks for the night off dad!

When we went to open present Jordan had a mini meltdown. Maybe a major meltdown. He had the best quote of Christmas though. With tears streaming down his face and crying very loudly he yelled, "I don't want a big present!" over and over and while throwing the gifts. I think he had too much fun for one day, he didn't know how to handle all the excitement....or he really was disappointed for a big present.

He finally calmed down when we told him he could open one of Sam's presents first. I don't know why it worked, but he was great the rest of the night.

Benji got a fly rod. Now he's a real fisherman. ;)

Part of my present to my dad was a freshly baked batch of mint chocolate chip cookies. He loved them.

Like I said, best present opening faces ever.

Okay, maybe this one is pretty normal.

Jordan then opened that big present he was so mad about. It happened to be a hot wheels race track set. He all of a sudden changed his mind and decided big presents are okay!

Trying to drive on the track.

Playing with his new toy with Mogie. Jordan loved it!
