The before, before, before picture
So I wanted to go a darker green, but the first shade I chose ended up looking like that 80's forest green that was so popular in kitchens. You know the forest green coupled with salmon pink or mauve. Yeah, it wasn't so pretty. I don't have a picture of that one, I hurried over to Walmart as fast as I could to get a darker green.
I liked it better than the first shade of green, but there was still something about it that I didn't like. Maybe it's because it made my house look like Christmas. I don't know.
Anyway, just barely I decided to go navy blue. I thought with the orangish red bricks it might look good. I picked out the darkest navy blue I could find, but when I came home and opened the paint can it looked electric blue! Like this color:
I decided to just go with it and even though the color darkened as it dried it still was brighter than I was thinking, but at this point I am NOT painting my front door anymore, so I'll have to deal with it for awhile. I actually kind of like it, and out of all the colors it has been this is my favorite.
So there is some more work that needs to go into the front porch that might make it all come together. I'm planning on getting planter boxes to go by my door filled with orange flowers, spray painting my mailbox white, painting the trim around the door white and getting new larger, cuter house numbers.
Something like this:And I'll probably hang them horizontally instead of vertically.
Anyway, I'll post a picture of the whole house once it's all done.
