Why having a girl is so fun (and dangerous!)

How come they have to make baby girl clothes so stinkin cute!? I have been pretty good about holding back and not buying outfits, but I had to buy this one.

Did you notice the adorable girly ruffles on the cardigan?

And the tights with the ballet flats?

So having a girl is going to be so fun, but it's already starting to look like it might be dangerous. How in the world do you stop yourself from buying all of the cute clothes? :)

For the quote board:

I was still asleep the other morning when Sam woke up so he came into my room to get me. He sat talking to me by my bed for a few minutes while I snoozed a little. My arm was up behind my head so that my arm pit was exposed, Sam noticed my prickly unshaved armpits (yes, I know it's gross) and said pointing to the hair, "What's that!?" I answered, "it's hair." Sam thought about it a minute and said, "no, it's a beard."

That finally woke me up because I couldn't stop laughing.

Bus

Today we went to Logan for a little while, so since we were already there I thought it would be fun to take the boys on a bus ride. The Cache Valley Transit District is completely fare-free, so we were able to jump on a bus and go where ever we wanted without worrying about anything. When I lived in Logan 6 years ago the CVTD (then it was the LTD) was one of three fare-free public transit systems in the US. I didn't bother to google the info, but I think there are quite a few more cities now that offer free rides to entice people to ride public transportation and not drive their cars.

My boys loved it!!
Jordan had to make sure he got a row all to himself.

Sam was enthralled with all the people that would get on the bus at the different stops.

We passed some very famous landmarks like Aunt Kelsey's old apartment! :)

We hoped off the bus at the Utah State campus to visit Aunt Mandy for a few minutes and check out the waterfall.

I didn't get a picture with Mandy, but she did share her yummy treats with us. Notice how I am holding Sam's arm in this picture...just try and tell a two year old he can't eat his candy yet because mom needs a picture, he wasn't patient enough! :)

Waiting for the bus again.

Sam is starting to think this is realllllllly cute to do in a picture.

Dear Kelsey,

We knew you would feel bad about missing the 24th of July at the cabin, so Benji and I took some pictures in your honor.

Love, Us

P.S. More pictures to come soon. (I just didn't want you to miss these tonight!)

Tracy Aviary

We have been doing a lot of fun things lately, but my problem is I take waaaaaay too many pictures when we go do something. I also have a problem with editing them down for blog posts, so my posts are a mile long usually. So here I am with my third picture heavy-post in a row, but what the heck, I love the pictures and it's my blog, so whatever, you'll have to deal with it! :)

Well, once again we went to Bountiful with Benji in the morning. We spent the morning at Tracy Aviary in Salt Lake, or as my boys call it, the bird zoo. It was so much fun and my boys enjoyed everything about it.

Jordan thought these birds were so funny, he said they were all girls. (Because of the eyelashes!)

Jordan also loved these guys. He said they were handsome. (Because of their styled hair.)

The flamingos were Sam's favorite. He still will imitate them by standing on one foot.

They also loved this splashy duck.

This swan started shaking his head just as I was snapping a picture of him.

They had a cute little sand pit with different things that you could dig with that had to do with birds. These are shovels shaped like pelican beaks.

The aviary has a special owl exhibit right now that the boys loved. I felt bad that I couldn't lift Jordan up so he could look in the owl shaped binoculars, but he found a way to do it himself!

They loved sticking their heads in these cutouts to look like birds, but they didn't quite understand and would stick their whole head in not just their faces.

I adore Sam's face in this picture.

Tracy Aviary is in Liberty park so we went and played on a playground when we were done with the birds.

It really is a gorgeous park!

Then we went and picked Benji up from work and went to my family's cabin in Fairview to celebrate the 24th of July. I'll add those pictures later.

Temple square, read-a-thon and the cabin

Benji and I had a wonderful weekend alone a few weekends ago thanks to my mom who watched my boys while Benji and went to our family cabin. We headed to work with Benji on Friday and while he was working we went to Temple Square in Salt Lake City. My boys loved being in downtown and looking at the tall buildings, Jordan asked me if we were in Chicago. :) We spent a few peaceful hours walking around the temple grounds, visiting with the sister missionaries, looking around the visitors center and then going to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.

My boys loved how many "waterfalls" were around Temple Square.

I was able to sneak a few great pictures of them. Believe it or not, most of these aren't posed. I think my boys are so used to the camera now they just pose and walk around smiling.

He just kept getting cheesier and cheesier....

This picture was posed, but they weren't really cooperating...
...this is what they started doing in the picture.

The Book of Mormon in all the different languages.

There was a big group of missionaries touring Temple Square and they loved my boys. Jordan and Sam had their pictures taken with so many of them!! :)

Looking at Salt Lake from the 10th floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial building.

Seriously, the JS memorial building is gorgeous.

More waterfalls.

The first ride on the elevator. They don't have elevators like this in Brigham City! :)

We then went back to Bountiful to have lunch with Dr. Hadfield. The boys and I had a few hours after lunch so we went to a park and had a read-a-thon. It felt good in the shade.

Then when Benji got off work we took our boys to my mom's house and headed to the cabin. We saw this gorgeous sunset on our way.

The next day I slept in until 11:00!! I don't remember the last time that happened. Then we went for a drive in the canyon and Benji went fishing for a little while.
