Because you asked for it

Okay, maybe only my sister asked. Anyway, here are the Koosharem pictures. Koosharem is in central Utah by Fish Lake and has a population of 276 (according to the 2000 census, so it's probably more now). I think the population doubles during the 4th of July. It's fun to see how many houses have 10 or more tents set up in their yards during the weekend.
My dad's sister lives there and we go there every year on the 4th to play and celebrate. There's always a lot of different fun things to do and we always make a float to be in the parade! This was J0rdan's first year in the parade and he loved it.

Anyway, we had to first make the 4 hour drive there. Here my kids are in Aurora, Utah for a quick little running break. We actually were changing Jordan into a pull-up because there aren't any gas stations from there to Koosharem and we didn't want him having an accident.

Just as we suspected about 10 minutes before getting to Koosharem Jordan announced from the back seat, "I need to poop!" We asked if he could hold it and he said yes, followed by a lot of groans that soon turned into crying. He didn't want to poop his pants and he said he couldn't make it so we pulled over and Jordan pooped on the side of the road....right here.Fun stuff.

We got to Koosharem pretty late so we set up camp and the boys fell asleep after saying hello to everyone.
The next day we were up bright and early for a pancake breakfast and then we decorated the float and it was time for the parade.

The theme was "I'm proud to be an American" so our float said, "I'm proud to be an American from sea to shining sea." Each person represented a different state. Jordan was Rhode Island because he was the smallest.

Here's one side

And the other
I was so proud of Jordan he waved the entire time
You gotta love small town parades!

You also gotta love small town transportation. (Yes, there are four men on that 4-wheeler)

The rest of the day was spent shooting guns, fishing, throwing rocks in this canal,

Riding horses (look at my cute cowboy!),

going for 4-wheeler rides
going for rides in the Rhino,

petting animals,
and having fun!

Here are my boys cute patriotic shirts
Sam's was extra special because it had his name on it!

And here's just a random picture of me and Sam. Not the cutest picture of me, but for some reason I uploaded it--so it's staying.

The end.

How dirty do your kids get??

Because I have a feeling my boys are above average in the dirt category. Where in the world does it all come from AND how do you keep it off of them? Lately Sam has been averaging 3 outfit changes a day. Usually our bath looks like this when it's done draining...Yeah, that's all dirt. Well, there's also a quarter, but that doesn't count...or does it?

This is what Sammy looked like after playing outside for seriously about 20 minutes.
This doesn't even showcase the lovely amount of mud that was on the front of his shirt. I'm not going to lie, he got sprayed down with the hose before coming inside.

Some days I'm a lot nicer and he rinses off in the kitchen sink.
But either way, when ever they get cleaned up there is a bigger mess to clean up after that--the bath, sink, laundry and me. Just to name a few.

If it's not dirt then it's food. I wanted to take a picture showing Jordan's fat lip he got the night before and of course there is food all over his face. Haha

So, just in case you are wondering the Hadfield boys do bathe, do own soap, and they do get their faces wiped after meals. They just have a mom that believes boys should play outside and getting dirty is probably good for them, but mostly she just can't keep up with the dirt.

A few random things

Yesterday Jordan was in the bath with Sam and he was teaching him how to say, "Da-dee-da." That is how Jordan said waterfall when he was Sam's age. It was so stinkin cute, and Sam really was saying it too!

Jordan used to bring me packages of tampons because he thought they were candy. I had to start calling them "mommy's medicine" so he would stop trying to eat them. The other day I told Jordan I wasn't feeling very well and a few minutes later he came back with a tampon and said, "here's some medicine mom, this will feel you better."

Jordan hates when we put sunscreen on in the morning. HATES it. It is one of the worst time of the day for me as well because I have to try and get two screaming boys sunscreened (yeah, I made up a word). Yesterday Jordan told me, "the sunscreen will take away my energy!"

Speaking of energy, Jordan's favorite thing to tell me is, "but the candy will give me energy!" Good try. But on the plus side, if I want him to eat something healthy all I have to tell him is that it will give him energy. Where he picked that up, I really don't know.

Jordan sometimes wakes up super-duper early and acts like a...like a...toddler that woke up super-duper early. One time he woke up crying loudly and just ran around the house up and down the stairs, all around, and then he ended up in the back bedroom of the basement and slammed the door. This morning was one of those days. Jordan woke up screaming and crying and demanded that Benji take a shower. If I wasn't so tired and mad, I think I would have laughed. He just screamed and cried over and over, "Daddy needs to take a SHOWER!!!!" He finally went back to sleep and woke up a few hours later acting not so crazy.

Sam has started talking and it's fun to hear the new words he says daily. My favorite thing he says is, "all done!" He says that when he's done eating, or done in the bath and so on. But when I go to change his diaper he starts crying and whimpers, "all done, all done!" He hates sitting still for a diaper change and I think he thinks that one day telling me we're done will really work.

I have a hard time keeping Sam's highchair and the floor around it clean. He loves feeding himself and I don't mind letting him, but some days I really wonder if I should spoon feed him until he's three. I've tried putting his food on plates, but that usually makes a bigger mess because he throws the plate on the floor. His new favorite thing to let me know he's finished is rub the remaining food in his hair. Nice.
So lately, after dinner I've been taking his highchair out back and squirting it down with the hose. It's so nice and fast and it gets a lot cleaner.

Really though, you can't feel sorry for me when I let him eat chocolate pudding in his chair...

Jordan's first shower

Jordan was acting SO crazy in the shower and, of course, by the time I got back with the camera he wasn't acting as crazy, but this video is still pretty funny. He had so much fun in his first shower. I thought it was a perfect video because the shower censored his nakedness, but then he bends over in the perfect place to give a full moon.

So here's a fair warning: This video contains nudity.

USA! USA! USA!

Happy belated Independence Day y'all. I hope everyone enjoyed fireworks, BBQs and family this past weekend. We went to Koosharem (or as Jordan calls it Koosamich) for the weekend and had a blast. I have tons of pictures and I will post them soon, but I don't have too much time right now, so I'll do it later. And besides, this is my blog, I can do whatever the heck I want.

ANYWAY, Brigham City did their firework show on Monday, which was awesome for us because we didn't miss anything. We had a fun BBQ at Benji's grandparents house and then came home to put the little guys to bed and watched the fireworks from our roof with my little sister.

First we let off a few of our own fireworks. I tried getting pictures of Kelsey dancing in front of them...
This was the best one, kind of freaky that her leg is missing.

Benji thinks this picture makes her look like the Ferrari logo--minus the front legs. I guess only a guy would see an exotic car logo in a fancy-pants dance move.

We tried to get a cool picture of us kissing with the fireworks in the background, but it's hard to take a picture in the dark without a tri-pod! It's still kind of cute though...

And here we all are.

Park City

A few weekends ago we went on a little mini-vacation to Park City. Benji had a Utah Dental Association meeting there so the kids and I tagged along.

The boys enjoyed jumping on the beds.
And Jordan loved having his own huge bed to sleep in.

I don't know how Sam felt about sleeping in a crib that was tucked away in the bathroom, but he slept well.

Friday just so happened to be Benji's birthday. I feel bad because he spent his birthday driving, then when we went out for his birthday dinner the boys were so sick of sitting and were trying to run around the restaurant so I ended up taking them back to the hotel room and Benji finished his dinner alone. Then later that night when the boys were sleeping I walked to the 7-11 that was right next to our hotel and picked up some Zingers and matches so Benji could at least have a cake.

The next day we enjoyed more bed jumping.

Coolest picture of my hair...ever.

Jordan absolutely adored the hot tub. He still talks about it. He would just sit on that ledge and do nothing, but he still loved it.

Sam loved walking around the little courtyard they had outside our room. Jordan loved that we had a "backyard".

Since we were in a place called Park City, Jordan just assumed we would be playing at a playground some time on our trip. So the next day we got some lunch and took it to a park and then played for a little while.
Oh, if you're wondering why Sam is in his pajamas at the park, let's just say we had a few unfortunate accidents and all of his clothes were dirty. I should always remember to pack an extra outfit (except this trip I should have remembered to pack 3 extra outfits...)

When I told Jordan I was going to take a picture of him he pulled this face. My boys aren't used to the fact that the camera is attached to my face yet. You think with all the pictures I take they would just walk around posing for pictures...in my dreams, I guess. :)

We went on the Alpine Coaster the next day and it was a blast. It's a lot like the Alpine Slide, but you are in a cart that is attached to the track. We felt it would be safer to take Jordan on something that wouldn't go flying off the track. We are so proud that our scared, timid Jordan was brave enough to go on the roller coaster AND that he had so much fun.

My favorite part of the ride was the ride up to the top, it was so relaxing to sit in a slow moving cart up the beautiful mountain side. When we get to the top you have the control over how fast you go--and these things go fast! I was even scared a few times going around the corners, so I'm even more proud of Jordan for being so brave.
