Do you want to know what happens when a two year old uses a toy hammer on a TV? Well, here's you go:
I'm not even angry, I'm sick and want to cry. The only time that Sam had to do this today was the 10 minutes I was in the shower. I think next time he's coming in the shower with me, seriously.
I've debated whether I should continue the "Mischief by Sam" series. I don't want it to start to appear like I'm forcing him to do naughty things just for a blog post (I'm not, these are all his own creations), and there comes a point where these posts should no longer be called "Mischief by Sam" but more like, "Mom, you should know better!" I really am trying to keep up with this guy, but really, when am I going to learn! :)
With that said, here are the latest pictures:
I couldn't get a very good picture because of the snowy background, but Sam made hand prints on the window....with sour cream. Yes, he found more mascara AND a permanent marker. He colored all over his cute shirt with purple marker and that mark on the wall was him too. I walked in the kitchen just as he started to draw that line and stopped him before he could do anything worse. As I was taking the pictures Jordan stepped in to get his picture taken as well! Haha I lost the 4th roll of toilet paper of the week when Sam opened my eye makeup remover and dumped it all over the crumpled paper. URGGGH! And this is where we get a glimpse of Sam as a mischievious teenager: He dismantled a firework. In my house. Under my own roof. Under my watchful care. Seriously though, this one freaked me out. What the heck!?
We got this letter in the mail yesterday and it made me laugh. Who starts a dang letter like that, especially an advertisement? Do you think I'm going to use your company after you insult my beautiful yard. :)
I made time to organize my food storage! Now the trick is to see if I can keep Sam from taking everything down! It took a long time, there are more shelves behind this one. It feels so nice to have it organized! Wahooooooo!
I'd like to shake things up today and say something nice about my youngest child! :) Even though I have 5 or more photos to share with you about naughty things he's done, I like this one much better, so I'm going to post it first.
Sam is potty training himself!!!
He will randomly pull down his diaper and pants and run and sit on the potty all by himself. I haven't really given him any motivation to do so. Yesterday he surprised me more when he took his pants and diaper off and put on underwear! He did pretty well the rest of the day in underwear, he pooped on the potty a few times and only had one wet accident. I do worry that he's a little too young, but he certainly wants this to happen, so I might as well try!
You would think by now I would be smart enough to lock up everything in our house that could make a mess of any kind. You think I would especially think twice about leaving food coloring unattended way up high on the top shelf in my kitchen!
I am happy I found him before it got worse than this! I was toying with the idea of pulling up the carpet in the hall and sanding and staining the beautiful hard wood floor that is underneath and now I think I have to....or buy new carpet. Did you know it's really really really difficult to get food coloring out of carpet!?
We had a pretty simple Valentine's Day. In the morning I took the boys to my neighbor's house while I ran to the store and picked up some fabulous balloons they were loving. I brought them home, set them up in front of the front door and then went and got them. When they walked in the door they were so surprised and happy. I bought the huge heart one for Jordan because right now he loves balloons that have words on them. I bought the two smaller animal balloons for Sam because I knew he would love those animals. I was so happy when I opened the door and they ran to the balloons that I picked out for them. They spent the rest of the day playing with the balloons!
I made a pink and red dinner for the boys. They had a breakfast/dinner with red pancakes, strawberries, ham, strawberry milk and red jello. They LOVED it. Yes, that is a pancake. Even with spray, they kept sticking to the pan. They were still good though! :)
I told Sam to smile just as he put a bite in his mouth, he just pushed the food aside to grin.
After the boys went to bed I made crab legs, shrimp scampi, and salad for Benji and me. I also bought us red Jone's sodas.
I loved spending the day with the boys I love most in the world. We had a good day being ushy and gushy and celebrating love.
Yesterday I went to a scout meeting and when I got home Sam didn't have a shirt on. I immediately knew something happened. I was right.
It's my brand new bottle of face primer all over his little face. I love when something like this happens when Benji is home because it's always nice to hear, "This only took him 2 minutes!!" It's nice for Benji to know I'm not neglecting Sam during the day when he comes home to a mess. :)
Sam keeps me on my toes--I don't know how else to start this post. He is curious and mischievous and can get into things he's not supposed to in a minute (or less). Never take your eyes off Sam.
So, I have had the idea for this post for months now. I wanted to show pictures of some of the crazy messes Sam makes, but just when I think I have enough material to write it, something else happens. So that is why this is titled part 1. I'm sure there will be more to come.
This is the most recent: He dumped parsley and other fun things in our simmering dinner. Luckily the parsley came out easily.
I have so many pictures like this, it happens a lot: Emptying drawers, totes, storage containers, bins, shelves is what he does best. Daily occurrence: This was after opening Christmas presents. He liked the styrofoam better: This is why I hate toothpaste and this is why we have to hide our toothpaste (this has happened so many times!): I even need a lock on my spice cupboard: Look at that face. How could you be mad? Other things locked up in our house--markers and paint: Sam's favorite thing in the kitchen is the dishwasher. He likes to add things to it: (I wish I had a picture of the cupcake smashed in the soap cup.)
He uses it like a step stool:
Things he also uses as step stools. 1. The toilet: Just sitting in the sink poking holes in dad's deodorant.
2. Drawers. 3. An actual step stool. Just eating Nutella with a spoon while nobody is looking.
The thing I can't seem to keep away from Sam no matter how hard I try is mascara. (See previous post.) You can't really tell in this picture, but not only did he get mascara all over the light switch and his face and hands, but he unraveled the floss (another thing he LOVES to do!), took stuff out of the drawer, and dumped some of my moisturizer on the counter (you can see the open pink bottle by his foot) After Sam put makeup on his face and looked at himself in the mirror, I think he loved what he saw because for the next few minutes he admired himself in the mirror. Seriously, sometimes it's hard to get mad at him because of his sweet innocent face. I am not even joking, but just as I was about to publish this I heard the sound of shattering glass in my kitchen. Sam just broke a picture frame. Like I said, never take your eyes off Sam.
Jordan and Benji were talking about different beans last night. He was telling Jordan that there are green beans and kidney beans. Jordan said, "And....macaroni is a cheese bean?!"
Jordan doesn't like green beans or macaroni and cheese, so in his mind everything he hates is a type of bean...I guess?
I love the Superbowl and we had another fun party at my uncle Dave's house. It was a smaller group than last year, but it was still fun!
This is the first year in 10 years I didn't wear Dolphins attire. I don't even know why. So here are my siblings representing!
And the Eagle's fan of a husband.
Jordan enjoying a treat from the food table. I love them. I don't know what's going on here, but it's cute. We watch the Superbowl projected on a huge screen. It's probably 10-12 feet! It's nice. My traditional touchdown picture. I love that everyone helps me out with this without complaining. My mom entertained the kids all night. They had a dance party. (I was going to crop this picture and then I noticed Sam off in the corner! It's my favorite part!) They also marched around the house. It's nice to have an awesome babysitter. :)
