Excited for Halloween

Jordan is going to be a monkey for Halloween and he is so excited. He loves to wear his costume around the house, and to look at himself in the mirror. He makes a cute monkey! I am excited to take him trick-or-treating at Disneyland this year! I love Halloween!

I am also excited because I didn't think I had any pictures of Jordan's first Halloween, but come to find out my friend Ali took a picture of us last year at our ward's trunk-or-treat party. Yea!

Benji is Harry Potter, I am Ginny Weasley (I had to be a Weasley since I have red hair and all), and Jordan is a cute little golden snitch. Jonas thought he was a bat, and most of the little kids thought he was a fairy, but he is a snitch.
Thanks Ali!!

Jump Shot

Jordan's first attempt at a jump shot was actually very good. We tried to get him to do it again, but it didn't work out.

Jordan is getting better at the fundamentals of basketball. He now likes to "dribble" the ball around the house. He walks with the ball in his hand and moves his arm up and down and rotates his hand, but he never lets go of the ball. He watches his dad dribble the ball at the park, but knows his little ball at home doesn't bounce (because of many failed attempts) so he had to invent his own way.

Had a nice trip see you next fall...break.

I was going to wait until the end of Benji's fall break to post the pictures and stories, but I just can't wait anymore. We have had a fun break even though we all took turns not feeling very well. We were still able to get out and do some fun things.
On Monday we went to Disneyland. We didn't bring the camera, which is okay, we'll probably go back in a few days and we can get pictures then! Disneyland has taught Jordan a pretty funny trick. Whenever we are in the car and the street curves, or goes up or down, Jordan now shouts, "weeeeeee!" He is really starting to enjoy Disneyland. It makes Disneyland so much better!

On Wednesday morning we went on an awesome hike to a waterfall. Jordan had fun pointing out the water and bubbles as we were hiking, but had even more fun playing in the waterfall once we got there.

This last picture is just a sample of what it's like to hike in San Bernardino County. The area is breathtaking and beautiful, but is covered with graffiti.
Later that day, thanks to our great friend that agreed to watch Jordan, Benji and I were able to go to Hollywood for a date to see Jimmy Kimmel Live! The seating is first come first serve so people start lining up pretty early. Benji and I got there right before they starting letting us in so we weren't expecting great seats. As we got to the door the usher asked us who we were here to see. Benji answered, "Jimmy Kimmel!" The usher said, "that was a good answer." He lead us to the front row, right in front of the band. We had awesome seats! We didn't really care about the actors/actresses that were on the show, but it was still so much fun to be there! Check out Benji's blog to see pictures of us on the show!

Here we are waiting in line:

We had to check our camera in the front desk, so we decided not to bring out nice camera. I was shocked at how bad the pictures taken on our little point-and-shoot turned out. I forgot what our pictures used to look like. I tried to get a picture of the El Capitan theater where we saw Jimmy Kimmel, but they didn't turn out so great, but this is where we were!

After the show we went to Cold Stone for some ice cream. It was nice to enjoy ice cream without Jordan begging, "please. Please. PLEASE! PLEASE!! PLEASE!!!!" It was all mine. ;)

Every Thursday night Redlands has a market night. State Street is blocked off and local farmers bring their fresh vegetables and fruit to sell. There are booths and rides for the kiddies. It's like Peach Days in Brigham City, but every week. It's fun to walk around and look at the different booths, and get samples of the fruit the farmers are selling. Last night we stopped at Betty's Burgers. It's one of my favorite restaurants in the area. It's a cute 50's style diner, with good food. Betty makes an awesome burger. This picture made me laugh...yes Jordan has a Mccain sticker on his shirt.

Benji has been selling a lot of our old stuff on Craigslist during the break. He also found a new bike. It's a Schwinn and only 6 months old. The owner was so sad to see it go. He made sure to give Benji a few pointers on how to take care of it. Benji is so excited to not have to walk to school anymore and I'm excited that I get to spend more time with him during his lunch break, since it only takes a few minutes to ride home.
Well, I now know why I blog everyday. This was quite exhausting. I'm never waiting this long to blog again! It takes way too long. Phew!!

How addicted are you?

Being a self proclaimed blog addict I saw this quiz and knew it was for me. I just had to know! I was actually surprised that it was only 68%. That's kind of sad!

What a poser!

Lately before Jordan takes a shot he poses with the ball for about 5 seconds. Here are some of my favorites....

Aaaahhhh...a nice Sunday nap.

Jordan's nap time everyday is at 11:30. Our church starts at 11:30, so usually by the time we get home from church (or while we are still there) he is dying for his nap! It looks like he had just enough energy to bundle all of his blankets up into a big pillow before he fell asleep.

Fall Break

Benji has all of next week off from school because he has a fall break. We have a lot of fun things planned for the week. I can't decide if I want to blog after each exciting event, or if I want to wait until the end of the week and post them all at once. If you don't hear from me in awhile it's because I chose the latter. Here is a little agenda of our planned adventures:

Yesterday: We went to Disneyland. Yes, we went twice in one week.

Today: played video games, caught up on sleep, hung around the house.

Sunday: Church! Jordan turns 18 months next month so we get to start trying out nursery. We went last week and he sure enjoys snack time!

Monday: Possibly the Chargers/Jets Monday night game! We're looking for cheap tickets.

Tuesday: hike to a waterfall.

Wednesday: Benji and I are getting away for a little date. We're going to a taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live! We have the tickets and Sandra O and Dancing With the Stars are on the show. I'm not sure if that means all of the stars from DWTS are going to be there. I guess we'll see.

Thursday: the beach! (or something equally as cool.)

Friday: I really want to go camping, but I guess we'll see. We might be pooped.

54

I was curious how many days I have been blogging. I started blogging on the 25th of July, so that is 54 days. Then I looked at how many posts I have. 54. Am I super lame or what? I promise I have a life away from blogging. I guess I'm just still infatuated with it's newness and fun. Maybe that will wear off, but until then here's to 54 more days and 54 more posts!

P.S. This picture was taken during the Superbowl. Jordan was way sick, and if you can't tell he isn't having the funnest time. This is the night that resulted in a trip to the E.R. and stitches in my foot. More on that story later.

Proud mommy moment

I totally know I am about to brag. Sorry! We've been teaching Jordan how to say, "please" and "thank you" and he's pretty good at remembering for Benji and me. Sometimes I have to remind him to ask in a nice way, but for the most part he's pretty good about it. Yesterday we had enrichment, and I took Jordan to the nursery. When I went to pick him up the girls said he was so polite and asked please for everything. I was so excited! I'm happy he remembers the things we teach him when we aren't around!

Sorry for the Seriouslysoblessed moment. I just had to!

Deja vu

We went to Disneyland again. Yes, again. It may get old reading posts about Disneyland, but we never get sick of it. We had fun. We went on a lot of rides we haven't been on yet, including the new Toy Story ride. It was a great ride. You have to wear 3-D glasses the whole time, which didn't work for Jordan, but he still enjoyed it.
If you ask Jordan, we went on the scariest ride in the park. It was so scary it made him react like this:
Looks like a pretty scary ride huh? You might think we took him on Pirates, the Haunted Mansion, the Hollywood Tower of Terror, but no, it was this ride....

The Mark Twain steamboat. It terrified him. We thought he would enjoy the water and the big boat, but he hated it. He cried most of the time. In his defense, there was a lot of scary steam, and a loud scary whistle.

Jordan's new favorite thing about DL is finding all of the waterfalls. They are everywhere. I never noticed until Jordan came along. Children teach you so much.
Jordan and me waiting in line for the Winnie the Pooh ride. I have never done drugs, but I would imagine this ride is like one big acid trip.

Access Hollywood

On Saturday we went to L.A. to donate blood to help the victims in Fridays awful train wreck. The blood bank was supposed to close at 1:00, but stayed open longer because of the need for blood. The place was pretty packed and there was a pretty long wait. It was nice to see so many people giving up their Saturday afternoon to serve others. Our prayers are with all the people that were injured in the train wreck and all the family members and loved ones of those that didn't make it.

We decided since we were driving to L.A. that we would make a day out of it. We spent the rest of the day in Hollywood. We found this cute little park after taking a wrong turn. Jordan loved all of the different birds. He loved running next to them and watching them fly away.

Beans

I made a meatball and vegetable soup the other day, and Jordan loved it. Well, he loved it as long as each bite had a kidney bean in it. He mostly loved the beans. This morning, before breakfast he ran to his high chair and started saying, "bees, bees, bees!" That is his way of saying beans, and yes, that's what he wanted for breakfast. I opened a can of kidney beans and he ate about half of it! It's a good thing he can kind of say what he wants, and I can kind of understand, because I never would have guessed that one! What a funny kid!

Off to the park

Benji just left to take Jordan to shoot hoops at the park. I had to run back into the house to grab the camera. I couldn't let this cute scene pass without a picture. Benji is such a great dad! Jordan loves having a dad that takes the time to play with him!

Last time Benji took Jordan to the park to play basketball, Jordan came home and practiced dribbling the ball in the kitchen. He wanted to play basketball like dad. He's actually pretty good at dribbling and getting better.

Drayson Center Pool

The Drayson center is a gym that all of the Loma Linda students and their families can use for free. Unfortunately, they don't like kids. The pool is only open for families a few months out of the year. We took full advantage of those few months though. We have been quite a bit this summer. Tomorrow is the last family day, but today was the last day we were able to enjoy the pool with Benji. Jordan loves going to the pool with his dad. He loves getting thrown in the air, blowing bubbles, and splashing with dad. Today they let Benji take Jordan down the water slide (shhh...don't tell). Jordan called it a waterfall the whole time.
