X-ray vision

For those of you who have been pregnant, you know there are some annoying things that absolute strangers do. I don't get annoyed with strange people touching my belly or giving unwanted advice (like the man that told me a few days ago to put kool-aid in my baby's bottle). However, I do get annoyed with the strangers that ask, "Are you having a boy?" After I tell them I am indeed giving birth to a male baby they say, "I can tell." Really? Thanks. Next time, instead of paying for an ultra sound I'll come find you and ask you.

The funny this is, I get just as many people asking me if it's a girl.

My favorite was a young mom of 2 with third on the way. Probably 20. She said she could tell I was having a girl because of how I carry. It was more spread out. Huh. Not sure how I feel about that comment. I wanted to laugh and cry and just say that I am a big fatty, ok, and my body just gets bigger everywhere! She then asked (without intentionally insulting me) if I was due any time. Yeah, I said, in about 22 weeks from now! Ah!

Well-meaning, I am sure.

When I was pregnant with the twins everyone thought I was having a girl. I got told this almost daily by the way I was carrying, lol. I often said, "You're wrong times two." I think the most wild thing about being pregnant was the fact that everyone wanted to touch my belly. Don't you just want to say, "You can touch mine if I can touch yours." Drives me nuts. So glad to be done with that stage of life. :)
